A random excerpt

It took several cold minutes for Simon to relight the fire, nurse the flame, and then bank it to last the rest of the night. He sat beside it for some time, holding his hands as close to the flame as he dared, as he warmed enough to get to work. He navigated around various projects and artifacts lying on the floor of his workshop, the untidied result of a late night working, and retrieved his favorite teapot from storage. Raking a small depression into the ash and coals, he placed the pot down.

“Gonna have to bring you, of course.” He said aloud to the teapot, himself, and the empty room.
